Fourth Grade: What makes St. Leo School a Catholic/Christian place to be?
Our theme is "Companions on the Journey." We also try to help others to follow in Jesus' footsteps. We have buddies to help them come closer to God. We also know the Golden Rule. We try our best to follow it not just in Religion class, but in everyday life, like at recess, at home, and many other places.
At St. Leo School we have many things that show we are Christians. I think the main one, though, is that we treat others with respect. We see God in each other. For example, in Physical Education class we are the last class before lunch, so we help our custodian set up for lunch. At recess no one feels left out. We love all of our teachers, friends, and classmates. I think I speak for everyone when I say, "We love St. Leo's!"
I think St. Leo's is a Catholic place to be because we go to Church on Sunday and Friday, but we also learn about Jesus' teachings. St. Leo school teachers teach the Golden Rule to us and we use it in everyday life. We learn a lot of Christ-like things so we are a family. St. Leo's gathers as one to be Christian.
Fifth Grade: Why do you think your parents chose to send you to St. Leo School?
I think my parents sent me to St. Leo School because the teachers and students are so welcoming and nice. St. Leo School also allows us to learn and celebrate Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit, because we can praise Jesus Christ at Mass each Friday.
St. Leo School is a wonderful Christian school. It has wonderful teachers who encourage you to do your best and care for you. Our secretary, Mrs. Frate, cares about you so much. If you are sick, Mrs. Frate will give you a peppermint or let you lay down on the couch and call your parents to pick you up. If you are hurt, Mrs. Frate will get a band-aid and help you get better.
Mrs. Nuno, our principal, is supportive. She improves the school to help us. My parents chose St. Leo School for me because of the teachers, staff, education, and loving care.
My parents chose to send me to St. Leo because there were already members of St. Leo Parish and they wanted my sister and I to have a Catholic education. They also heard good things about the teachers at St. Leo.
My parents also sent my sister and I to St. Leo because they wanted my sister and I to have friends that would be kind toward us..
I think my parents sent me to St. Leo because they love me. My parents want the best for me and St. Leo was the winner. My mom and dad aren't Catholic, but said it would be nice if I could learn about another religion. I depend on my parents for making good choices in my life. So, when they picked St. Leo I knew that was a good choice! My mom chose St. Leo because she wanted to have me at a safe school. Since the day my mom dropped me off at school, I've been great!
Middle School: What makes Junior High so cool at St. Leo School?
Middle School is fun but there are a few things that I really like. The best thing about Middle School is being with your friends and nice teachers.
We have a totally awesome volleyball team. We also have a special bond of friendship that the public school don't get.
I have been with this class since Kindergarten. The cool thing about St. Leo is all the fun memories I have had with these people. These people are like my family.
The teachers at St. Leo Middle School are cool because they care. You get a lot of cool priveleges in 8th grade, like dances and clubs. In order to learn you get to participate in different kinds of activities.
